Big City

Went to the big city yesterday and it is always a tiring trip. With me I think it is proably getting in and out of the car so many times, so I try to stay in the car some of the time and just let my daughter get out and do her thing. I just sit in the car and play my Nintendo DS, I have my favorite game and it is a great way to pass the time, it comes in real handy on long train trips. When I go down to visit my family in Grover Beach the first thing my 10 year old Grandson says is "Can I play with your DS and of course he can. The only thing I did yesterday was shop at Wal Mart, so not to bad. I have to go back Saturday to return some items to Home Depot and pick up some other stuff, but I will be on my own schedule and can take my time and turn on the heater in the car if it is cold. My daughter will turn the air conditioner on even if it is 40 degrees outside.
The picture at the right has nothing to do with this post, I just like the picture.

Going To The Big City

My daughter and I are going to the big city today to get supplies. It is about an hour away, but the prices are so much better. All I need to do is go to Wall Mart for a few things. I am going to see if she will drop me off at Wail Mart while she does her errands. That way I will not feel like I have to hurry and I can look, touch and fondle the merchandise.
It rained here last night and is slightly cool this morning, but not too bad.
We are doing a yard sale Friday and Saturday. The way it is done here in Trinity County is they have yard sales twice a year and you sign up for it at the little local newspaper and the paper prints a map in the newspaper as to where all the yard sales are to be held. I am always amazed at how many people show up, but show up they do. I guess every one is looking for a bargain, I know I do.
Well I hear my daughter calling me so I suppose it is time to head out

Coming Home To The Cat

I just came home from work and of course my baby was waiting for me, that is my cat, I call her Baby, my daughter calls her Bitch and my son simply calls her Stupid. They have their reasons I suppose, but I love her. I have yet to figure out how one small cat can take up the whole bed. When I try to move her she gets really upset and usually stays where she is. Have you ever made a bed around a cat? At night she wants right up against me and if I have not made room for her she will sit and stare at me until I move over and she has her spot, she sleeps there all night.
I am definitly a cat person, but when my cat passes I will not get another cat. It would proably out live me.
I also like frogs, no, no, not your common garden variety frog, but the cute little figurines and beanie baby ones and glass frogs.

Its time to make sure the dogs have their dinner so I will talk to you soon.

Cats And Dogs

It Sunday and a lovely day it is.
I am composing this post and listening to George Jones, one of my favorites along with Neil Diamond, Elvis and others.
My picture to the left is from the Waine's Cat Collection. I discovered the artist when I was in London a few years ago, and just really liked the collection and the story behind the collection.
Part of my chores here at home is feeding the dogs and cats. We have two dogs who are intent on protecting the property from wild animals like coyotes, skunks and other small varmits and strange cars that drive up the road.
Then we have a little ferrel cat that stays on the property, you can not get close to him, when you try he skoots off. But I keep food and water outside for him and also my cat and my daughters cat will eat from the outside food, I had to give my Daughter and Son-In-Law a lesson in cat food. My Son-In-Law is into healthy eating for his family and it over extends to the animals, but he bought a flavor of rice and chicken cat food, I can tell you the cats do not like rice, humans might like it, not the cats, so I requested they get a fish or liver flavor.
We call the ferrel cat Little Gray, he is small and solid gray and has the most evil looking eyes I have seen on a cat. They are bright yellow with black pupils, we call them devil eyes, and he will stare you down with those eyes.

New Cabin

Today is Saturday and my son-in-law is working on my cabin. He is putting in the counter top and I actually helped. I like helping with the cabin because I can say yeah I helped build it. He is doing most of the work himself to cut down on costs But its hard because he also has to work at his construction jobs. He is a contractor.
Usually when I offer to help he will tell me no he does not need me to help, which is fine. I think he likes doing it himself, you know so he can say I did this. When I offered to help with the dry wall he just laughed at me. Hopefully I will be in the little house by the middle of May any way I hope so. We picked out flag stone for the hearth today and I really like it. Where I live you have to have a wood burning stove to stay warm in the winter. The first winter I was here was the worst winter they had in 30 years. I was ready to pack up and go back to the coast. We had so much snow that year that we could not get out for a few days, but we had enough grocerys to last and the propane tank had just been filled and we had plenty of fire wood, so we were O.K.
Thats it for today. Talk to you soon

Much About Nothing

Hello all, this little blog will be about much of nothing. Just of what is going on in my little corner of the world. My little corner is not very big, but it works.

I cannot post personal pictures right now because I am working from a lap top and no scanner, but soon hopefully my desk top will be plugged back in and I can work on that. My desk top is in storage right now because my son-in-law is building me a little cabin on their property and I am living in a small room off the garage. Its small but cozy and comfortable, so bear with me.
